Thank You from the Choconut Center Volunteer Fire Company

Choconut Center Fire Company

The Choconut Center Volunteer Fire Company would like to express its gratitude to the John Mack Foundation in their donation of an automated external defibrillator (AED). With the donation, the fire company was able to make life-saving capabilities available on all of the fire and rescue vehicles that respond routinely to emergency calls, not only in the primary coverage area, but also on mutual aid calls in nearby areas.

Knowing the importance of rapid defibrillation in a cardiac event, and having the equipment to perform that readily available, can be the difference between life and death.

The fire department would also like to congratulate the John Mack Foundation on a successful tournament this year, which raises awareness of the foundation and the importance of cardiac defibrillation equipment at sporting events. Their continued involvement in education of sudden cardiac arrest syndrome and Commotio Cordis (a cardiac arrest resulting from blunt force trauma to the chest), and the need for a readily available AED, is making the difference around the Southern Tier.
