This is a very busy time of year for the John Mack Foundation! The “John Mack Southern Tier Shootout Lacrosse Tournament” is this weekend (8AM to 6PM Saturday, 1/30 and 8AM to 5PM Sunday, 1/31) at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex at 1500 Airport Rd in Binghamton, NY. Also, thanks to the grant from The Hoyt Foundation (see John Mack Foundation Awarded Grant By The Hoyt Foundation for more info), we have more AEDs awaiting donation to some community organizations that are currently completing their paperwork.

85 teams, from across the Northeast and Canada, and as far south as Charlotte, North Carolina, will be competing in the largest indoor lax tourney in the world. The tournament includes both boy’s and girl’s divisions. Players range in age from 3rd & 4th grade up to Grand Master (men 45- to 70-years young).

The tournament is the primary fundraiser for the John Mack Foundation and will allow us to donate more AEDs to help prevent sudden cardiac death. John Mack died ten years ago at the age of 17 while playing in a lacrosse game at a facility that did not have an AED. To learn more about John, read John Mack’s story.
